J. NELS FORGE COLLECTION - knives

Johnson uses 1095 carbon tool steel from 120-year-old circular saw blades acquired from New England. The grips are individually fashioned from the wood of trees around his property (oak, almond, eucalyptus, apple, etc.) or from antlers (deer, elk, etc.).  All knives come with a leather sheath, custom made to perfectly fit. Each knife blade takes over 10 hours of labor, with the grips and leather sheaths taking additional time. The tang for each knife is inserted 3/4 of the way into the handle with hard epoxy curing it into place. Each knife is handmade and therefore one-of-a-kind, varying in length and style, and Johnson also accepts commission orders for custom knives.

Knives with Antler Grip - Vary by type of animal antler and size.
